How to Declutter Your Home for Spring
It’s that time of year again! Spring is known for cleaning, refreshing, decluttering, and redesigning. It’s all about that fresh, clean feel. After a long winter filled with holidays, and lots of time spent indoors, it can be nice to start cleaning out closets and under bathroom cabinets to reorganize and refresh. We have a few cleaning tips and tricks up our sleeves and of course, a couple of suggestions when it comes to refreshing your space for spring!
Start With the Clutter
Make three piles, for consignment, give to family or friends, and donate. This will help you sort through what you have and make better sense of why you have it, if you use it as much as you’d like, and if there is someone else out there who might use it more! Perhaps certain items have served you well, and now is the time for them to be swapped out with new ones. Whatever it may be, this sorting system is a great first step in your spring cleaning.
Get Cleaning
Before you reorganize the items you’ve decided to keep, this is a great time to clean up the spaces they once occupied. Start by gathering up supplies, and choosing what areas need to be dusted, wiped, vacuumed, and mopped. Make sure you go into this step fully equipped to tackle all the messes!
Pacing yourself is an important key in taking on a large cleaning project such as this! We would recommend tackling certain spaces and rooms in 2 or 3 days, rather than all in one go. Often this task can be a larger chore than we’re used to, and it’s hard to make sure it’s done efficiently if rushed.
